The production of health data from the care of patients in a medical environment but also through connected objects or large national databases has opened up the new concept of digital health.
The tools of artificial intelligence, thanks to their ability to process large datasets originating from various source (medical, environmental, epidemiological…) and to establish a “medical meaning” to these data, have allowed the development of a wide field of applications, such as diagnostic aid, prediction, prevention or treatment of diseases. They allow to promote a multidisciplinary and integrative approach to health in order to meet the challenges of the increasing incidence of chronic diseases and their complications and also strengthened the involvement of the patient who becomes an actor in his/her care, thanks to the real-time data that he/she can generate.
In this context, the summer school is an accelerated learning program proposed by a consortium including the Université Grenoble-Alpes, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat de Girona, Universitat de Lleida, Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya and non-academic partners, Barcelona Health Hub (BHB), Bioinformatic Barcalona (BIB) and AMGEN.
The school that will take places at European Scientific Institute (Archaprc, Archamps France) from June the 2nd to the 11th, is part of the Master degree in Health data science (MHEDAS) granted by EIThealth and fully in line with EU goals to deliver innovation and solutions enabling to improve European citizens health. During the summer school students in science, informatics and healthcare will be immersed in a challenging mix of theoretical and practical sessions on health data science innovation and coached to develop business models of market-acceptable products to address the issue of a challenge about cardiovascular complications of patients with Diabetis.
