David Alesini is staff of the Accelerator Division at LNF-INFN (Frascati) where he is head of the Vacuum Group.
He has been working on the physics and technology of particle accelerators for 20 years, in particular on beam dynamics, beam coupling impedances, accelerators operation, RF structures and LINAC design, realization and test of particle accelerators components such as injection/extraction kickers, RF deflectors and accelerating structures. He has proposed and designed several new devices now in operation in different particle accelerators. He has been involved in the INFN projects DAFNE and SPARC_LAB at LNF, CTF3 and CLIC at CERN, ELI-NP GBS (Bucharest) and, recently, in the LNF project EuPRAXIA@SPARC_LAB.
He has been teaching at the CAS-CERN Accelerator School since 2010 and at JUAS since 2018.
