The annual meeting of the JUAS Advisory Board was held April 21-22, hosted by Prof. Vittorio Vaccaro at the Università di Napoli “Federico II”.
Board members heard School Director Louis Rinolfi present a detailed review of the highly successful 2016 session which saw a total of 71 students taking part in all or part of the programme.
Two changes were made to the Advisory Board: Prof. Caterina Biscari replaces Prof. Antoni Mendez as the representative of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Prof. Chris Prior announced his forthcoming retirement and in consequence his withdrawal from the Board.
The Naples meeting was Louis Rinolfi’s last as School Director. The Advisory Board members thanked him warmly for his role in strengthening JUAS over the last six years and welcomed Dr. Philippe Lebrun, former Head of Accelerator technology at CERN, as the new Director effective from May 1.
