To celebrate the opening of the 2015 session of ESIPAP, the European School for Instrumentation in Particle and Astroparticle Physics, ESI was proud to welcome the world-famous physicist, Prof Peter JENNI, who gave the inaugural lecture on “The long journey to the Higgs Boson and beyond at the LHC”.

Peter JENNI is one of the "founding fathers" of CERN's ATLAS experiment which today counts some 3200 scientists from 177 organisations in 38 countries. Along with CMS, ATLAS is one of the two principle particle detectors of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider).  ATLAS played a significant role in the discovery of the Higg's boson and in the future will be used to explore new dimensions and particles associated with "dark matter".
